Payment & deposit

To secure your booking we require payment of one rental day or the full amount in advance. The remaining balance is automatically charged to your card the day before pickup. At pickup a $200 hold is placed on all vehicles (and $550 for the Ford Transit). The deposit is released as soon as you return the car in the same condition it was given to you, if there are no pending charges; the refund may take several business days depending on your bank.

Contract duration

The rental period is specified in the contract and must be respected. The rental term begins at the agreed time or from the moment the vehicle is picked up by the client or an authorized driver, whichever occurs first; delays on the client's part, including flights, do not alter the term of the contract. If you wish to extend the rental period, contact Master Car Rental before the original end date to arrange the extension (subject to availability).

Vehicle use

The rented vehicle must be used solely for the purposes agreed upon in the contract. Any change to the intended use must be authorized by Master Car Rental.

Young driver (under-age fee)

The minimum age to rent is 21. Drivers under 25 pay an additional $9.99 per day (under-age fee).

Insurance & deductible

In case of an accident a $500 deductible applies to all vehicles, except the 15-passenger Ford Transit which is $1000. The insurance does not cover damage from driving under the influence of alcohol or substances, drivers not authorized in the contract, or negligent or intentional use. In these cases, the renter is responsible for the full cost of the damages.

Vehicle return

Return the vehicle in the same condition and with the same fuel level; otherwise additional charges apply.

Cancellations

With 3 or more weeks' notice you receive a credit for the amount paid toward a future booking. With less than 3 weeks there is no refund or credit. Early returns are not refunded.

Additional charges

After return, charges may apply for traffic violations, damage, tolls, towing, cleaning, legal fees, or other administrative fees.

No smoking

Smoking inside the vehicles is prohibited. If there is evidence of smoke, a $275.00 cleaning fee is charged. More info.

Contactless delivery (Car Box) & hours

Our office hours are Monday to Saturday, 9:00am to 6:00pm. If you pick up after those hours, delivery is contactless via Car Box and a one-time $5 charge applies. We prepare the cars Monday to Saturday until 4:00pm: if you book after 4:00pm we can't prepare the car for that same day, and on Sundays (closed) you can't book to pick up that same Sunday.

Parking at Mercedita Airport

Contactless pickup at Mercedita Airport adds the $5 Car Box. Airport parking for the vehicle is the customer's responsibility for the entire time the car is there, at the same price charged by the company that runs the Mercedita Airport parking; Master Car Rental does not charge this. When we pick up the car we send you the parking receipt and you pay the same price.

Your card's address

When paying, use the same address that appears on your Visa, MasterCard or Discover card. Any discrepancy may decline the payment.

Emergencies

In case of emergency or accident, call 911 or Master Car Rental at 787-419-0000 (call or WhatsApp).

Acceptance

By confirming your booking you accept the estimated total, which may change at the end of the rental based on any additional charges that apply. By renting with Master Car Rental you accept all the policies detailed here.
